What is a life Coach?
Simply put, we help you help you! By using a unique set of solution-focused tools, we help you grasp just how great you are. Many of us forget that from time to time. Our job is not to fix you, but rather to help you discover that you really do possess all the ability it takes to make the decisions necessary to live a meaningful and fulfilled life. We come alongside and partner with you in an ongoing relationship that is all about you taking responsibility and action toward your goals, visions, and desires. We assist you in the process of inquiry and personal discovery and provide the structure and needed feedback for your incredible journey.
What benefits can I expect if I were to hire a Coach?
Seldom is excellence achieved by one person alone. Most successful people, teams or organizations have a host of supporters playing different roles, all contributing to success. That is what a life coach does – he or she joins your team and fights for your success. Professional coaches, through a partnership with the client, are there to help produce positive results, whether in their professional or personal lives. They help people perform better and ultimately improve the quality of their lives. This can be as simple as helping you navigate a job change, or as complex as helping you accomplish the goal you’ve been dreaming about your whole life – and everything in between!
What does a typical coaching session look like?
Every session is different because every person is different in personality, preference, style, motivation, what they like and what they dislike, what they can do and what they think they can do, and so on. But we always try to make sessions fun, enjoyable, and beneficial. There is some structure and some flexibility, but most sessions generally include the following steps:
• Discovering and clarifying exactly what it is that you want
• Exploring the opportunities and possibilities within these dreams
• Creating an action plan with options that are best for you
• Implementing the action plan with measurable steps
• Motivating, inspiring, and holding you accountable by establishing progress markers
• Celebrating the accomplishment of your goals – the big ones and the little ones!
Why does coaching work?
Coaching works because it is all about unlocking the passions and potential you already have inside of you, and then giving you the tools you need to work toward what you really want in life.

How does coaching differ from counselling and therapy?
Coaching is usually a less formal relationship that tends more toward a partnership between two equals rather than a relationship between a teacher and a student. Coaching focuses on the future – looking ahead, building a vision to work toward, and then working toward it – while counseling tends to deal with the past and past experiences as a way to a healthy future. There is a need for both disciplines and reputable coaches and counselors will be more than willing to work with you to determine which is best for you.
What types of people hire professional Life Coaches?
If you’re an employer, employee, parent, student, church leader, artist, musician, athlete, politician, doctor, lawyer, teenager, or just about anything else, chances are good that someone like you – only not exactly like you, of course – has hired a life coach.
What cities do you serve?
We’re located in Kitchener-Waterloo, but we serve clients all across Canada and the United States. For church consulting, we’re happy to serve any church located in Southwestern Ontario. For personal coaching, we can help pretty much any client anywhere in the world, as long as he or she has a phone or an internet connection!
Is phone coaching effective?
Many clients feel that phone coaching is actually the best way to be coached. It is definitely the most efficient way to meet for both the coach and the client. We have also found that once a little trust and rapport have been built, being on the phone is often very freeing and less intimidating than person to person. Most clients are more than satisfied with phone coaching, but if you decide you’d prefer the face-to-face approach, we can accommodate that.
What if I can’t afford coaching?
Coaching is valuable and worth the investment. If you truly cannot afford it, we will work with you and come to an agreement so you are not deprived of coaching because of financial restraints.
What if I’m not satisfied with the results?
We are proud to offer a 100% Money Back Guarantee to any clients that don’t perceive quantifiable progress or improvement at the end of each session. If you decide our time together hasn’t proven valuable, we simply reschedule the session or refund your money, whichever you would prefer.
Are you certified?
Currently there is no regulating body for the life coaching industry. There are several organizations that claim to be the “official” certifying body, but in reality, none are. One certainly needs to be aware and choose wisely when looking for a life coach. Joel Bennett, our lead coach, holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Religious Education, a Certificate in the Arts & Science of Coaching, and is currently working towards his accreditation with the International Coaches Federation. With over 30 years of experience in business, service clubs, church, family, and adolescent development in communities across three different provinces, he’s certainly no stranger to the challenges of family life, professional life, and church life.
